The user-friendly, technologically advanced Form 4 allows you to do more with less, offering blazing-fast speeds and reliable accuracy. The redesigned printer engine, resin cartridges and exclusive v5 resins complete most prints in two hours with sharp details, smooth surfaces and tight tolerances. The Low Force Display (LFD) print engine sets a new industry standard in three-dimensional printing performance.

Formlabs designed LFD from the ground up with six custom hardware systems: - The backlight unit uses powerful 60 LEDs and collimating lenses with an integrated cooling system to allow for fast resin curing as it prints. - The light processing unit (LPU 4) works with the backlight unit as a mask to create the shape of a printed layer. It has a custom high-resolution LCD with a 50 μm pixel size that creates the smoothest surfaces, sharpest details and precise tolerances.

- The release texture film is a Formlabs exclusive microtextured optical film that effectively promotes airflow between the flexible film resin tank and the LPU to reduce peel forces. - The flexible film resin tank minimizes peel forces and delivers consistent print performance up to at least 75,000 layers with any Formlabs resin. It’s easy to use with a stackable design, simple latches, an easy-pour spout and protection against spills.

- The intelligent control systems consist of a camera, resin level sensor, force sensor, resin temperature sensor, mixer debris sensor and a printer leveling sensor, so you can always keep a keen eye on your printer’s status. - The automatic resin handling has been redesigned to offer 5–10x faster resin filling with a 30% smaller form factor. The Form 4 resin cartridges are smaller, creating 63% less plastic waste.

There is virtually no limit to the geometric complexity of your designs with the Form 4: undercuts, cavities, intricate structuring and complex shapes are easily within reach. The Form 4's build platform, 7-7/8"W x 4-7/8"D, can produce 22% longer parts than the Form 3+ model. It accommodates designs or high-production trees up to 8-5/16" tall.
