First on our list of requirements was a way to eliminate the fear of the gate being accidentally left open. Our designers came back with two options: an auto-close functionality so the gate closes itself after use and a visual alert which highlights the lock has been activated. Our favourite comment during testing was; If I can install that gate in less than ten minutes, then anybody can.
Additionally, the strength and durability of the gate must remain even when the gate is extended by any distance up to nearly three metres.
